Etnia Barcelona is a Spanish independent eyewear brand that started out in 2001 with only one sales representative. Its founder and CEO, David Pellicer, had a strong background in eyewear manufacturing. He started working in his parents' factory when he was just 17 years old and gradually grew to take over the day-to-day operations. His work culminated with the founding of Etnia in 2001. Back then, most of the eyewear came in dark hues and bright colors were rarely seen.
The first collection featured eyewear in bright, vivid hues that quickly led to major sales. In 2003, the name of the brand was changed to Etnia Barcelona, as an hommage to the city that inspired its successful initial collection.
Since then, its team of innovative and creative designers has created a wide variety of eyewear collections. The styles and colors are set to go beyond the rigors of passing fashion or trends.
The company is made up of young creative and entrepreneurial workers who build up its identity day by day, color by color. To date, Etnia has offices in Barcelona, Hong Kong and Miami.
