We currently use two carriers, USPS (United States Postal Service) and UPS (United Parcel Service) for shipping. USPS might be cheaper; however, from our experience the tracking information is not always timely updated. UPS is sometimes faster and a little more expensive, but has a high-quality tracking system. (Tracking information is emailed when the package is shipped). We do not offer Saturday delivery as an option for UPS at this time. When in doubt about choosing a shipping method, we suggest UPS.

Insurance, FSA and HSA
Great news! You can now use your vision plan, FSA or HSA account to cover the expense for your prescription glasses.
We don’t deal with insurance providers directly, but you can request a receipt for your use when applying for reimbursement.
FSA is an account that allows employees to use set aside pre-tax money from their paychecks for healthcare expenses not paid for by their current insurance policy.
You can use it for doctor visits, prescription medication, contact lenses and our prescription eyewear, the only thing we offer that you can’t use it for is non prescription frames.
HSA is an account that allows employees with a high deductible health plan (HDHP) to set aside pre-tax money for use on qualified healthcare expenses. You can make purchases on your HSA debit card towards qualified healthcare expenses.
You’re eligible to purchase contact lenses, prescription eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses using your HSA. Non – prescription glasses are not covered by the HSA.
Lenses and prescriptions
We offer a great selection of prescription lenses including digital and free-form progressive lenses, coating and more.
Your glasses prescription is a series of numbers, usually in a chart, that describe the lenses your eyeglasses need to correct your vision. This chart has two rows, one for your right eye and one for your left. Four columns are used to precisely describe your correction.
SPH or Sphere refers to the amount of spherical error for your eyes, measured in quarters and proceeded by a (+) or (-).
CYL or Cylinder describes astigmatism, a refractive error that causes distorted and blurred vision, measured in quarters and proceeded by a (+) or (-).
AXIS indicates the orientation of astigmatism, measured in degrees 1 to 180.
ADD or NV meaning Near Vision is used for multifocal or reading correction, measured in quarters. This power for bifocal or free-form progressive lenses enlarges immediate vision and is therefore always indicated by a positive sign (+).
O.D. refers to the right eye.
O.S. refers to the left eye.
PD or Pupillary Distance refers to the distance in millimeters between the center of one pupil to the center of the other.
In simple words it is the distance between your two pupils. Usually your eye doctor will include it in your prescription. However, please don’t worry if you don’t have it, it’s very simple to figure it out. We have a tool that you can print out to measure pupillary distance yourself.
Absolutely! We actually prefer it. This way, we can make sure the information is accurate. Simply scan or take a picture of your prescription and send it to us.
Yes. We offer ultra-thin, 1.67 and 1.74 high index lenses, as well as high index progressive no-line bifocal lenses. If your prescription contains a sphere value of -12 to -6 or +4 to +6 or if your prescription contains a cylinder value of -2 to -4 or +2 to +4, then adding high-index lenses to your order is recommended.
Contact lens and eyeglass prescriptions aren't interchangeable. Although the prescriptions may appear similar, they differ in strength. For your safety, we can't use your contact lens prescription to make your prescription lenses same as we can’t use your glasses prescription for contact lenses.
Yes, we do! We work with all major progressive lens brands.
We do offer variety of lens materials such as plastic, polycarbonate and hi-index. Standard 1.59 lenses are made from polycarbonate, which is far thinner and lighter than traditional plastic (CR-39) or glass lenses. Polycarbonate is the most impact-resistant material available and offers 100% UV protection. For stronger prescriptions or customers wanting thinner lenses, we offer 1.67 polyurethane optical and prescription sun lenses. These are thinner and lighter than our standard lenses.
Yes, although polycarbonate and polyurethane lenses are tough, they still can be scratched. That’s why we provide anti scratch coatings (additional fee applies), to keep your lenses scratch free.
Yes, prescription lenses can be used in any glasses located in the Rx-able sunglasses section on our website.
We are able to add polarized prescription and non-prescription lenses to most of our sunglasses. All of our polarized lenses are 100% UVA/UVB protected and scratch resistant. Polarized lenses help protect your eyes from the reflected light that comes off of water, road, and snow. If you have a strong Rx, we also offer Polarized high index lenses. Sunsvision.com also offers Progressive -No-Line Bifocal lenses as an option for your new shades.
Of course you can. Do you simply want that trendy look but don’t have a prescription? No problem, we can fit nonprescription lenses to any frame you choose. Additionally, you can add an anti-scratch or anti-glare coating to your order to make it look as “real” glasses.
